Swim lessons

Philosophy:
Munchkin Movement swim lessons operate on the philosophy that all children deserve to have the skills
necessary to be safe AND have fun in and around the water.  To that end, classes are kept small and
only one class is held at a time, so children receive plenty of individual attention.
Safety tips are reinforced at each lesson.  And there is always plenty of time for play!

Class Structure:
Classes are divided into two main types - those where the parents (or other adults) accompany the
children in the water, and those where the children are in the water with only the instructor.  Beyond that,
class placement is decided by either age and/or ability level.  Classes without a parent will have a maximum of 4-6 children, depending on the class.

Goldfish 2—Transitioning to swimming without a “bubble” and becoming more comfortable putting our faces in the water and jumping in.

Clownfish (ages 4-8 yrs)
Clownfish 1—Swimming the width of the pool in the shallow end on stomach and back without flotation devices, and learning to swim underwater.
Clownfish 2— More work swimming and jumping in the deep end, working towards swimming the length of the pool.

Private lessons (ages 3 and up)
Private lessons are ideal for children who have a fear of the water or who have had negative experiences with past swim lessons.
They can also be helpful for children with any sort of special needs.
